After the first two missed blows to the head, Italian Angela Carini refused to continue the fight.
The winner was the gender-changed athlete from Algeria, Iman Khelif, who was disqualified from the 2023 World Championships but allowed to compete at the Olympics.
There is another transgender person at the Olympics this year – also boxer Lin Yuting from Taiwan.
