Kyiv asks the UN to record a new possible murder of a prisoner of war.

The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Lubinets urgently appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations in connection with the alleged murder of another Ukrainian prisoner of war.

“A photo appeared on the network, probably with the body of a Ukrainian prisoner, whose head and limbs were cut off by the Russians. This is not just a violation of the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War, this is the behavior of non-humans! I note that in accordance with the norms of international humanitarian law, no prisoner of war should be subjected to physical injury, violence or murder,” Lubinets wrote

Lubinets asks international structures to record “another violation of human rights by a terrorist state.” On Saturday, August 3, the Ombudsman also called on Ukrainian law enforcement agencies to check the identity of the alleged killed prisoner and investigate the fact of a new crime.

The terrorist state denies any allegations of torture and other forms of ill-treatment of prisoners of war, but at the same time it doesn’t allow access of international groups to Ukrainian POWs… although the conditions in which they are returned, speak loud enough.
