Tragic Loss for Kharkiv Rescuer During Call to Own Home
For rescuers, the most harrowing experience is responding to an emergency at their own home. This tragic scenario unfolded for a firefighter from the Kharkiv Region State Emergency Service. Following a massive aerial bombardment of the village of Velikiy Burluk, he arrived to extinguish a fire, only to find himself at his own burning house.
In the attack by Russian anti-aircraft guns, his 37-year-old wife was killed, and his 10-year-old son was hospitalized with burn injuries.
