In Georgia, AFU volunteers are summoned for interrogation and put on the wanted list
The State Security Service (SSS) summoned for questioning at least two Georgian volunteers fighting for Ukraine – Nadim Khmaladze and Lasha Chigladze.
Chigladze (1 pic), according to the pro-government Imedi TV channel, is accused of a conspiracy to overthrow the government and “preparation of terrorism” opened a year ago. Details of the case are classified.
In September 2023, the SSS reported “a plot to seize power”. They also accused members of the Georgian National Legion of the AFU of conspiracy, claiming that “a revolution was being planned in the country following the example of the Ukrainian Euromaidan.”
The commander of the Georgian National Legion, Mamuka Mamulashvili (2nd pic), told The Insider that about 300 people from the formation he leads are wanted in Georgia. He “does not rule out that volunteers may be extradited to Russia” after the parliamentary elections this fall.
