As Putin and Medvedev have repeatedly said: for Russia, any Ukraine would be “nationalist” because from his – and Putin’s – point of view, the very existence of a sovereign Ukrainian state is nationalism. Any Ukrainian is a “nationalist/Nazi” for them.
Their goal is for Ukraine and Ukrainians to cease to exist.
This should be clearly understood when talking about “negotiations” with Russia.
Even Ukrainians from already occupied territories and with “correct” views will be persecuted.
