🇹🇭Thailand moves towards BRICS membership.
The country’s cabinet has approved a decision to accept the invitation extended to it at the BRICS summit in October, the Bangkok Post reports.
Membership could be approved as early as June.
Bangkok believes that membership in the organization, led by Russia and China, will boost its trade, investment, food and energy security, and “help enhance Thailand’s role in promoting international cooperation and multilateralism.”
Thailand is currently one of the 13 official BRICS partner countries.
