🇮🇹🇮🇷🔒❗️ — Italian journalist Cecilia Sala, 29, was arrested in Tehran on Dec 19 while reporting in Iran by the Islamic Republic’s authorities, confirmed Italy’s Foreign Ministry.
➡️ As noted by observers, Ms. Sala, a correspondent for Italian newspaper Il Foglio, is under close monitoring by the Italian Embassy and Consulate, following directives from Minister Antonio Tajani.
➡️ Ambassador Paola Amadei has conducted a consular visit to assess Sala’s health and detention conditions. Her family has been briefed on the visit’s findings.
➡️ According to Iranian opposition media and Italian media, she was imprisoned in Evin prison
