A team of Israeli specialists arrived in Thailand early this morning to support search and rescue operations after a powerful earthquake struck the region, according to the military.

The mission, a collaboration between the IDF and the Defense Ministry, is headed by Col. (res.) Yossi Pinto, who commands the IDF’s national reserve search-and-rescue unit.

After landing in Bangkok, the team immediately began gathering intelligence and providing Thai officials with critical situational updates.
