🌐 Amid growing diplomatic tensions between Brazil and the United States, Lula is attending a meeting with progressive-leaning Ibero-American heads of state. The focus of the gathering is to discuss the rise of movements labeled as extremist on digital networks and to seek joint strategies in response to the influence of international actors on domestic policies.

In addition to Lula, the presidents of Chile, Gabriel Boric; Colombia, Gustavo Petro; and Uruguay, Yamandú Orsi, also participated. The Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, was also present.

💥 Lula further stated that there is “a new anti-democratic offensive” underway and emphasized that the leaders gathered in Santiago, Chile, acknowledged the urgency of “regulating digital platforms.”
