Australia and United Kingdom warn against the Israeli occupation of Ghaza

Occupied Palestine

Australia and the United Kingdom warned this Friday against the dramatic consequences of the Israeli project aimed at occupying the city of Ghaza and expanding its military offensive in the besieged band. The Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Penny Wong, warned that the implementation of this strategy “would aggravate the humanitarian disaster” already underway in the Palestinian territory.
In an official statement, she recalled that “the forced displacement of the populations constitutes a violation of international law”, stressing the urgency of a ceasefire and the need to allow the unhindered transportation of humanitarian aid.
She reaffirmed that the two -state solution remains the only way to lasting peace.
For his part, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the Israeli plan as “error”, believing that it “will cause more blood baths”.
He urged Israel to “reconsider immediately” his decision, adding that this escalation would neither contribute to the conflict or guarantee the release of the hostages.
These international reactions are part of a context of increasing concerns in the face of the intensification of hostilities in Gaza and the dramatic worsening of the humanitarian situation for more than two million civilians.
