Air Algeria finalized the transfer of Tassili Airlines, which was under the thumb of the Sonatrach group, realizing a strategic instruction by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in order to strengthen internal air transport. The first flight from Tassili Airlines, now called Domestic Airlines, is planned towards the end of the current month.
According to a press release from Air Algeria, released this Saturday, August 8, this step represents “a strategic transformation concretizing the instructions of the President of the Republic aimed at creating a national company specializing in internal air transport, in order to strengthen the link between the various wilayas of the country and to support economic and social development”.
The company estimated that the completion of this transfer of ownership constitutes “the fruit of a rigorous organizational and legal process, adopted according to the highest standards of governance, guaranteeing a fluid and transparent transition, while ensuring the continuity of activities and the quality of the services offered to customers”.
In this context, Air Algeria said that it is working on the reorganization of the integrated company in order to strengthen operational efficiency. The new status of the company will be applied “gradually” to the fleet dedicated to inner transport, so as to “meet the expectations of travelers and to raise the quality of services to the highest standards”.
The first commercial connection on the interior lines should start before the end of August in progress, according to the press release, representing “the start of a new stage in internal air transport, based on complementarity and efficiency, and focused on citizen service throughout the national territory”, according to the same text.
Air Algeria has also reaffirmed “its total commitment to mobilize all its expertise as well as its human and technical resources to succeed in the integration of Tassili Airlines in its system, and to work for the development of the internal air transport network, the service of the Algerian traveler and in support of the national vision of promotion of the civil aviation sector”, it was added from the same source.
Recall that a first measure has already been taken concerning the integration of the Tassili Airlines fleet, made up of 15 aircraft, including seven large capacity, pending reception, as of next September, of the first devices among the sixteen to be imported to improve the air transportation services.
