Quatre terroristes abattus par l’ANP – Le Jeune Indépendant

A detachment from the National People’s Army has thwarted an attempt at terrorist foray near the borders with Libya. Four armed terrorists activating in terrorist groups outside the country, having attempted to introduce themselves by the southeast borders (4th military region), were slaughtered.

According to a statement released this Sunday by the Ministry of National Defense (MDN), the operation was carried out by a detachment of army security services.

“Within the framework of the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, a detachment of army security services killed, in the morning of August 9, 2025, at the level of the southeast borders, in 4th military region, 4 terrorists armed with 4 machine guns of the Kalashnikov type activating in terrorist groups operating outside the country” The MDN press release.

“Said terrorist tried to cross our national borders and to enter within the country,” notes the same source.

“These are Amrani Moad, Bousbaa Houssam, Ghadir Bachir Maamer and Bedghiou Okba”, specifies the press release, adding that this operation “confirms, once again, the vigilance and determination of the National People’s Army to eliminate anyone who dares to cross our national borders and infringe the security of citizens”.

It should be noted that the border with Libya has been under close surveillance for many months, due to a certain agitation in active armed groups in this border area adjoining Niger. Terrorist groups active in the Sahel region, as in Mali, Burkina Faso, notably the disaster Aqmi, operate in areas close to this border.

Concerning the South Libyan, in particular the Fezzan, the observers consider this region conducive to the implementation of terrorist groups because of its vast expanse and the logistical and technical difficulty for Tripoli, where the factions of Marshal Hafter occupy the main agglomerations, to control the movements of these armed groups.

The region is known to be a real traffic corridor of all kinds, including arms trafficking. A few hundred kilometers from the borders with Algeria, in the far northwest of Sudan, the civil war raged between the army of Khartoum and the so-called FSR militias.

These tensions have provoked the spread of cross -border criminal activities, threatening the stability and security of the countries of the region.
