1,2 million de manuels d’anglais livrés avant le 1er septembre – Le Jeune Indépendant

Back to school: 1.2 million English manuals delivered before September 1

The ONPS puts the double bites.

The National Office for School Publications (OPPS) puts double bites a few weeks before the start of the 2025/2026 school year. After completing the immense project to distribute textbooks for all teaching cycles, he is now preparing to send, within record time, more than 1.2 million new English manuals intended for first -year students in the average cycle. The objective is that each establishment in the country has its copies, and this no later than 1er september.

The national manual distribution operation officially started last May. The first step targeted southern wilayas and distant border areas in order to overcome the logistical difficulties specific to these regions. The campaign then marked a forced break during official school exams, before resuming to gradually cover all the other wilayas.

This vast operation ended on July 20, with the full delivery of all school programs to the establishments of the three cycles, primary, medium and secondary, spread over the 58 wilayas of the country.

Previously responsible for providing only colleges and high schools, the ONPS has seen its missions widen over the years. He now also provides delivery of textbooks to primary schools. This perimeter extension implies a significantly more sustained production and distribution rate, with the absolute need to meet strict deadlines to allow establishments to start the school year in the best conditions.

Among the priorities of this return is the new English manual for first -year students of the average cycle. The competent ONPS services have already sent these textbooks to the regional school and publication centers. The implementation in schools will start upon the return of the teams after the summer break, between August 20 and the 1er september.

Sold for 250 DA, less expensive than the old edition, the book has 96 pages. The content has been carefully designed to be accessible to students. Clear concepts, simplified lessons, educational illustrations and explanatory diagrams. The displayed ambition is double: to improve the capacity for understanding learners and strengthen the place of English as a living language and scientific tool.

The validation of the new manual was not left at random. At the end of July, the specialized accreditation committee of the National Institute for Research in Education, a structure attached to the Ministry of National Education, gave its official green light. The program, considered in accordance with educational objectives, was then transmitted to the ONPS for printing and distribution throughout the country.

Aware of the vagaries that can disrupt the start of the school year, the office has set up a strategic stock of textbooks. This “reserve stock” makes it possible to respond quickly to any shortage linked to exceptional events such as floods or earthquakes. This preventive measure aims to guarantee the continuity of education, even in emergency contexts.

With reinforced logistics, a modernized English program and anticipation measures in the face of crises, the Ministry of National Education and the ONPS want to make the start of the 2025/2026 a model of organization. The delivery of textbooks, in particular those of English, is perceived as a strategic issue to improve the quality of learning and respond to the educational ambitions of the country.
