The National Agency for the Promotion of Hydrocarbons Resources (ALNAFT) and the Western American Company Petroleum (Oxy) signed, this Sunday in Algiers, two agreements for the carrying out of two studies on the evaluation of the potential for hydrocarbons on two perimeters.
These are the perimeters of El Ouabed and Dahar, located respectively in Benoud’s furrow and the northern part of the Basins of Berkine and Oued Mya, Alnaft said in a press release.
These agreements which “are part of the strengthening of cooperation between Alnaft and Western Petroleum”, aim to identify new investment opportunities in exploration and development of hydrocarbons, according to the same source.
The western company Petroleum, whose head office is established in the United States, is an international energy company with a portfolio of diversified as a global scale.
In Algeria, western Petroleum operates in several major projects, notably Ourhoud, Hassi Berkine and El Merk, since the 1980s, recalls Alnaft in its press release.
“The two studies conventions signed between Alnaft and Western Petroleum demonstrate their commitment to collaborate in order to deepen the evaluation and valuation of the national mining domain of hydrocarbons,” added the same source.
