Tuesday was particularly exceptional. No less than 22 fires were recorded in the country’s forests and brushwoods. Thanks to terrestrial and air mobilization, 17 households have already been fully controlled, while three are still active and two under close surveillance. This was indicated by a press release from civil protection.
The flames continue to ravage certain areas in Béjaïa. A first fire broke out in the Tabllakt forest, a commune of Taourirt Ighil. He was extinguished. However, a second home, located just 6 km away, was still active and required sustained intervention. Other fires have, on the other hand, been completely circumscribed, notably in Aghbala (commune of Ouzellaguen), Aghil Hussein (commune of Souk el-Venine) and Aït Annane (commune of Darguina).
The wilaya of Tizi Ouzou has also experienced several fires declared to Aït Khalili, Aït Yahia Moussa, Iffigha and Afliès (Tigzirt). They were all completely controlled. Only that of Bouzeguène, located in the Ikoussa area, remained under surveillance in order to prevent any recovery of the flames. In addition, a forest fire was reported in Bouira, in the locality of Karkour (commune of Lakhdaria), and quickly controlled.
In Tipasa, a forest fire spread in the region of Bordj el-Ghoula, in Terrell, where extinction operations were still continuing. In the Tekteka district, commune of El-Hutatatba, another fire was recorded but quickly extinguished. The wilaya of Sétif has also been touched by several fire starts in the municipalities of Harbil, Bougaâ, Babor and Aïn Roua. All of these homes were extinguished by the intervention teams
The wilaya of Sidi Bel Abbès, for its part, recorded a fire of brush in the Douar Ouled Farès (commune of Aïn El-Berd), completely circumscribed. Finally, in Annaba, the fire that had declared itself in the Bouhadid area was also under control.
Moreover, two households were identified in Jijel. The first, located in Ouled Ali in the mountainous area of Kouf (commune of Ziama Mansouriah), remains under observation. The second, recorded in the commune of El-Choufa, was completely extinguished.
Surveillance and security operations continue on active or recently extinguished households. Civil protection said that even if a large number of fires have been circumscribed, its teams remain fully mobilized on the ground.
