The Ministry of Health recalls the preventive measures to observe

Heat wave

The Ministry of Health recalled, last Monday, in a press release, the essential preventive measures that citizens must observe following the significant increase in temperatures that the country is currently experiencing.
“Due to the significant rise in temperatures in the country, the Ministry of Health recalls the preventive measures essential to observe in high heat time, in particular by the most vulnerable, namely children, the elderly as well as people with chronic diseases,” said the same source. According to the ministry, the precautions to be taken are to “close the shutters and the curtains of the facades of the housing exposed to the sun, to maintain the closed windows as long as the outside temperature is greater than the interior temperature and avoid going out during the hottest hours”. The case where it is imperative to go out, it is recommended to go out sooner or later in the evening, to put light and large clothes and remain in the shade and out of prolonged exposure to the sun, to drink enough water while avoiding very sweet or high caffeine drinks and to avoid outdoor activities (sport, gardening, DIY), adds the ministry’s press release. Regarding the symptoms that can alert in the event of a sunburn, the same source cites in particular “headache, a desire to vomit, an intense thirst, an abnormally hot, red and dry skin”, thus inviting citizens to act by “transporting the person presenting one of these symptoms in a cool place, make it drink, sprinkle with fresh water and air.” n
