“The security services of the Daïra de Réguiba (Wilaya of El Oued) managed, at the end of last week, to abort a large -scale smuggling attempt, with the seizure of 1,987,200 firecrackers and the arrest of two individuals, and this as the celebration of the Mawlid Ennabaoui said,” said the central communication service His press release yesterday. According to the central communication service, this high -quality operation was made possible thanks to supported field work supported by in -depth investigations, which allowed Algerian police investigators to detect a criminal network attempting to transport the goods via a difficult access path to access to the country’s land borders.
In -depth investigations have led to the identification of suspects as well as the means of transport used: two utility vehicles.
“An ambush carefully tense by the elements of the security of Daïra de Réguiba allowed the interception of two suspects, with the seizure of the firecrackers hidden in 69 boxes aboard two utility vehicles,” said the DGSN.
Pushing the investigations more, the Daïra de Réguiba security forces have also recovered a passenger car used in criminal activities in the network. The two suspects were presented to the prosecution at the Guemmar court (EL-OUED), concluded the DGSN newsletter.
