The Sidi M’hamed (Algiers) court with an enlarged territorial jurisdiction has treated, the day before yesterday, a case linked to a transnational organized criminal network engaged in drug trafficking and psychotropic tablets, said a statement from the public prosecutor’s office of the Republic.
“In accordance with the provisions of article 11 of the Criminal Procedure Code and article 34 bis 1 of law n ° 25-03 modifying and supplementing the law
n ° 04-18 relating to the prevention and repression of the use and illicit trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances, the prosecution of the Republic of Sidi M’hamed with enlarged territorial jurisdiction brings to the attention of public opinion, the treatment of a case relating to a transnational organized criminal group, and this, in the context of the fight against crimes and substances psychotropic drugs as well as the transnational organized crime “we read in the press release.
The criminal group “is made up of 8 individuals, including two arrested in the act. These are called Ataf El Hadi (51) and Neguazzi Rabah (34 years old), arrested in possession of a considerable quantity of ecstasy type psychotropic tablets, weighing 143.9 kg, the equivalent of 235,466 tablets, as well as 458 grams of cocaine, “added the same source.
“At the end of the preliminary investigation carried out by the services of the first division of the judicial police of the security of the wilaya of Algiers, it was arrested 5 suspects, while 3 others are still in a state of escape,” noted the same source.
“After presentation of the accused before the publication of the Republic, they were prosecuted for import, transport, storage and detention, illegally, of synthetic drugs and psychotropic drugs, as part of a transnational organized criminal group, for the purpose of undermining national security and public order, as well as for dangerous traffic with public security and health and for money of a criminal group ”.
“After hearing the accused, the investigating judge ordered their placement in pre -trial detention,” said the press release.
It should be recalled that the Territorial Brigade of the National Gendarmerie (GN) in Ouled Fayet (Algiers) ended, at the beginning of this week, to the activities of a dangerous criminal band operating in the territory of Ouled Fayet, which attracted victims, aggressed them and stripped them of their property.
