Ticad summit in Japan: Cooking Reverse Rabat

New diplomatic failure of Makhzen.

Morocco has just wiped a new diplomatic failure in Yokohama, Japan. Despite all of its dilatory maneuvers and behind behind the scenes, the International Conference on the Development of Africa (TICAD) ended with a reaffirmation of the rejection of Rabat’s attempts to sabotage African unity and the solidarity of the countries of the continent.

The Makhzen regime has vainly tried to destabilize the work of this ninth edition, in particular by wanting to create Zizania by trying to remove from the final press release from the Ticad the mention “of the member states of the African Union”. An important mention since it de facto included the Saharawi Democratic Arab Republic, whose presence at this conference was very noticed.

The Moroccan cunning was thwarted thanks to the vigilance of African and Japanese diplomats, who refused the Moroccan plan aimed at cracking the unity of the AU. This sneaky Makhzen attempt comes after previous trials to ban the RASD delegation from participating in this forum, as he always wanted to do so at each multilateral summit, where the Pan-African organization is involved or co-organizer.

Finally, the Japanese-African Conference adopted the Ticad 9 declaration which underlines, from its preamble, that the partnership is established with the members of the African Union, in accordance with the stipulating passage: “A partnership between Japan and the member states of the African Union, with other organizations, including the UA, UN, UN, UN commission,”.

This text was approved unanimously, despite the repeated challenges of Morocco aimed at excluding the Sahrawi State (founding member of the AU) from the continental bodies and their bilateral meetings with foreign partners.

It should be noted that the RASD took part in the work of Ticad 9 with a high -level delegation led by the Prime Minister, Bouchraya Hammoudi Bayoun, the Minister of Foreign and African Affairs, Mohamed Yeslem Beissat, as well as the Ambassador permanent representative to the African Union, Lamine Abali.

In a statement, Mr. Beissat stressed that this edition of the Ticad ended with the participation of the RASD alongside African States. He noted that “one of the significant facts of this edition was the strict security system set up by the Japanese authorities to protect the Sahrawi delegation, its flag and the sign bearing the name of the Sahrawi Arab Republic, in order to avoid any recurrence of the incidents caused last year by the Moroccan delegation”.

“It seems that the irresponsible and provocative actions of certain Moroccan diplomats have weighed in the decision of the host State,” he added, saying that this situation has placed the Sahrawi delegation at the center of the participants.

As a reminder, the last edition was marred by a deliberate assault by a Moroccan pseud-diplomatic against the Sahraoui representative, in view and at all the diplomats present in a plenary session.

The thug of Moroccan diplomacy has been exposed, thus demonstrating its propensity to bellicism, aggressiveness, confrontation, corruption and refusal to accept reality and truth of the Sahraoui fact, which is a colonial fact and a file examined at the level of the United Nations.

For observers, the final press release from the Ticad 9 is of great importance, because it reiterates the famous formula “member states of the African Union”, despite the vain protests from Morocco and some countries traditionally known by their collusion with it.

According to the Head of Sahrawi diplomacy, “Japan and African countries have deliberately multiplied this mention to assert their attachment to the integrity of the African Union and to the equality of all its members”.
