Près de 7 800 nouveaux étudiants attendus – Le Jeune Indépendant


The University of Béjaïa, with its four campuses, Aboudaou, El Kseur, Amizour and Targa Ouzemour, is expected to welcome 7,798 students this year. The latter were assigned after the first two registration and confirmation phases of choices. The majority of these students have already paid the registration fees, made the hosting and transport requests, and is preparing to submit the scholarship requests very soon.

According to Professor Saïd Bey, vice-rector in charge of pedagogy “1,316 students were assigned to science and technology (ST), 1,213 in economic, management and commercial sciences (SEGC), 609 in law, 150 in architecture and 157 in hydraulics”.

He also specifies that 175 students were assigned to medicine, 75 in medicine and computer science, 69 in pharmacies, 680 in natural and life sciences, 511 in social sciences, 411 in human sciences, 124 in science and techniques of physical and sports activities, 220 in computer science, 339 in mathematics, and 193 in food sciences, among others.

Regarding the period devoted to specific cases, the latter filed their requests for transfer between establishments, either at local level or to other wilayas. They were also able to request a change of sector from August 19. The period of appeals relating to transfers and changes in the sector ended this Sunday at midnight, pending the proclamation of the results scheduled for August 26.

August 31 will mark the start of online payment for registration fees. Students will then have to make this payment via the EDAHABIA card, submit their transport and accommodation requests, and finally submit their scholarship request, between September 1 and 15.

As a reminder, a period had also been devoted to holders of the previous unused baccalaureate, from July 24 to August 5.

In addition, Abderrahmane Mira de Béjaïa University, which brings together four campuses and eight faculties, currently offers 214 specialties, spread over 12 areas and 31 training courses. New training will also be integrated next year (2026), according to the socio-economic needs expressed by the labor market as well as those of the wilaya and its immediate surroundings. In particular, the opening of specialties in connection with transport, tourism, water engineering and dental surgery is provided.

It is useful to recall that the University of Béjaïa has around 40,000 students, of which nearly 8,000 are expected to graduate this year. Half of them will leave university.
