Une expérience familiale inoubliable en 4K

Unforgettable family experience in 4K

Projection in Algeria of “La Ruée to L’or” by Chaplin in remastered version

This is an exceptional event: for the first time in Algeria, the public will be able to rediscover

“The golden rush”, a centenary masterpiece of Charlie Chaplin, in a dazzling 4K remasterized version.

Young and old are invited to experience an extraordinary projection, celebrating the centenary of a mythical film that has marked the history of world cinema.

A timeless adventure in the heart of Klondike

At the end of the 19th century, gold fever pushed thousands of men to brave freezing storms. Among them, Charlot, the little man with the Melon hat, faces blizzards, hunger and loneliness. Between the huts lost in the snow, the imposing Big Jim, the formidable Black Larsen and the beautiful Georgia, Chaplin weaves a story that is both funny, tender and universal, where each scene has become legendary.

Exceptional 4K restoration for a historic centenary

Made in 1925, “the gold rush” is considered by Chaplin himself as the film for which he wanted to be recognized as long as possible.

To mark its centenary, a global restoration has been entrusted to the Funduzione Cineteca di Bologna and the Laboratory of Immagine Ritrovata, with the support of Roy Export SAS, the Chaplin and MK2 association.

The period materials, kept in the largest archives (BFI National Archive, MoMA, George Eastman Museum, Lobster Films, Bundesarchiv …), made it possible to restore the film its original form of 1925. Result: a breathtaking image, faithful to the vision of Chaplin, which restores all the magic of black and white.

An outing celebrated as a real show

To accompany this anniversary projection, a new poster and an unprecedented trailer honor the cult moments: the dance of the rolls, the meal of the liquorice shoe, or the hut scenes shaken by the storm.

So many sequences which continue to make people laugh and move all generations, and which, in 4K, reveal a visual beauty ever seen in the room.

A universal heritage to share with the family

Since his first projection in Hollywood in 1925, “La Ruée to Gold” has been celebrated as a triumph of cinema. Chaplin deploys all his comic and poetic genius there, offering an experience that is both popular and timeless.

Today, this centenary is the perfect opportunity for the Algerian public to live together a great moment of cinema, between bursts of laughter and shared emotions.
