The President of the Republic, supreme chief of the armed forces and Minister of National Defense, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, presided yesterday a meeting devoted to the transport sector on Tuesday, which began with a tribute to the victims, following the recent tragedy of the accident of a bus, which revealed several shortcomings. At the end of an in -depth discussion and after hearing the interventions of the participants, it was decided what follows:
– Immediate importation of 10,000 new buses for the transport of passengers in order to replace the former, under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry.- Immediate and intensive importation of all types of wheels for vehicles.- Promulgation of new laws relating to traffic regulations, in particular the methods of issuing the driving license, and presentation of these during the next meeting of the Council of Ministers. Submit drivers to periodic controls, in addition to multiplying control centers to detect the possible consumption of drugs and narcotics.- Accident responsibility will also be extended for the first time to the parts responsible for roads and their maintenance, driving schools, technical control organizations of vehicles and any other party whose responsibility in accidents is proven. to strengthen surveillance throughout the national territory in order to impose the strict application of the highway code, in order to reduce road crime.
