7th edition of the large Algiers cleaning campaign

The 7th edition of the large cleaning campaign organized by the wilaya of Algiers, the day before yesterday on Friday and which affected the streets and the districts of 14 administrative constituencies, experienced a strong participation of citizens and neighborhood committees, in particular in the new sites where, according to the inhabitants, the absence of discharges provided for this purpose leads to anarchic waste deposits.
Alongside several companies specializing in the cleaning and development of the environment, including the Algiers road and sanitation maintenance and sanitation establishment (Asrout), the two cleaning companies, household collection and transport of the Wilaya of Algiers, namely “Extranet” and “Netcom”, the public establishment for the development of green spaces in Algiers (EDEVAL).
Placed under the slogan: ” Hand in hand, let’s prepare the cleanliness of our district ”, this present edition which continued until yesterday Saturday, and which included several residential sites of the new city of Sidi Abdellah, aims to eliminate black dots, remove the rubble and preserve the environment of household waste and others.
But also clean the cities, districts and large arteries, also by cleaning the avallitals and wadis, the treatment of water leaks and the maintenance of green spaces in all municipalities, neighborhoods and secondary roads.
The operation also concerns the maintenance of public lighting and the decoration of the main roads by artistic lighting.
On this occasion, the services of the wilaya of Algiers invited citizens to contribute to this campaign in order to ensure its success and to achieve its objectives, since the involvement of the inhabitants will facilitate the identification of the places to be cleaned.
President of a coordination meeting with the Wilaya Executive Council last Wednesday during which a detailed presentation on methods, work mechanisms, material and human resources mobilized for this operation was presented, the Algiers wali, Abdenour Rabehi, insisted on the need to ensure the success of this campaign, by associating the actors and components of civil society in order to achieve the expected objectives.
As a reminder, the 6th edition of the large cleaning campaign for the districts and municipalities of Algiers, launched on June 20 through all the administrative constituencies of the capital, saw a broad participation of the various services of the wilaya and the tutorship establishments which mobilized all the necessary human and material resources, in addition to actors of civil society, including the Algerian Muslim scouts (SMA), Algerian (CRA), associations, neighborhood committees and youth associations. It was marked by the cleaning and ornament of the streets, districts and public spaces of the various municipalities of Algiers, in particular public squares, forest areas and road stations, in addition to reforestation operations.
