The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Kamel Baddari, supervised, yesterday in Algiers, the launch of a project to make a green hydrogen engine, said a statement from the ministry.
This project “is part of the development of research and development results and the transformation of innovation into rewardable and industrializable results, through the conversion of diesel engines of transport buses to engine hydrogen”, said the press release.
This project “will save 31% of local energy production and considerably reduce carbon emissions linked to the use of diesel, thus contributing to the
achievement of sustainable development objectives set in the Government program 2024-2029 ”, according to the same source.
The launch of this project “took place in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of National Defense and the Central Directorate of Military Makers, the Director General of Scientific Research and Technological Development, the Director of the National School of Renewable Energies, Directors of Research Centers, Researchers in the field of Green Hydrogen, as well as representatives of the National Society of Industrial Vehicles (SNVI)”.
