Earthquake in Afghanistan:

More than 800 people died and more than 2,700 others were injured in eastern Afghanistan, struck in the night from Sunday to Monday by an earthquake of magnitude 6, followed by at least five aftershocks felt hundreds of kilometers, the government said.

By reporting this new assessment at a press conference in Kabul, government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said that 800 dead and 2,500 injured had been identified in the province of Kounar alone, as well as 12 dead and 255 injured in the neighboring province of Nangahar, where the epicenter of the earthquake was, just 8 km deep.
