The United States has decided to refuse visas to Palestinian officials invited to express themselves during the UN General Assembly in September.
An unprecedented measure, which deprives a whole people of the possibility of defending their cause in the enclosure supposed to represent the international community. Under the pretext of “fight against terrorism”, the Trump-Rubio administration actually applies the wishes of Benyamin Netanyahu. By prohibiting the Palestinian speech, Washington offers total diplomatic coverage to the Israeli Prime Minister, already accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity. While Gaza lives to the rhythm of bombing, famine and mass graves, this decision amounts to endorsing the current genocide. Far from being a mediator, Washington acts as the direct accomplice of the executioner, locking the UN to prevent the victim from testifying. History will remember that the United States has not only armed Israel, it also gagged the Palestinians to stifle the truth of the genocide.
