A new step taken.
A new stage in Algerian-Turkish cooperation has just been crossed with the closing of the second training session in welding and metallurgy, organized from August 11 to September 2, 2025 in Algiers. Initiated under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Turkey and implemented by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency Tika, this initiative enabled 21 young Algerians to obtain certificates sanctioning their new skills.
The closing ceremony was held this Tuesday in the presence of the Turkey ambassador to Algeria, Muhammet Mücahit Küçükyılmaz, who recalled the depth of the historical ties between the two countries and the need to translate them by concrete projects. “The common history between our two nations must materialize in reality through joint work and training. Our goal is that young Algerians learn continuously and develop their skills, ”he said.
In addition to technical learning, this program aims to strengthen the employability of young people and create professional bridges between Algeria and Turkey. The most promising beneficiaries will thus have the possibility of continuing their improvement in Türkiye, or even integrating Turkish companies based in Algeria, according to the Turkish ambassador. An attractive perspective in a context where demand for skills specializing in metallurgy and welding continues to grow.
This initiative also illustrates Tika’s desire to diversify its cooperation actions in Algeria. Known for its projects in the cultural, educational and heritage fields, the Turkish agency is now investing more in technical and professional training, a strategic sector for the economic development of the country. By focusing on youth, it contributes to the emergence of a skilled workforce, capable of meeting the requirements of modern and competitive industries.
Young people certified, on the other hand, see this training a precious opportunity. Not only do they acquire know-how directly applicable on the job market, but they also benefit from an opening on international experiences. The promise of exchanges in vocational training with Turkey strengthens their motivation and their confidence in the future.
With this second edition, the welding and metallurgy formation confirms its gateway role between two countries linked by a long history and eager to build a future based on skills and solidarity.
