Caravans of the future and Hackathon Smart Cities
Algeria is preparing to organize the “Smart Cities Solutions Hackathon from September 18 to 20, a national competition devoted to the search for innovative digital solutions in the field of smart cities. The event is accompanied by the third edition of the “Caravans du Futur” which will offer workshops and conferences on digital and financial culture in several wilayas of the country.
This event is organized by the company Guiddini specializing in digital services, in partnership with strategic actors, in particular the Algerian group of digital actors (GAAN). Participants will develop concrete solutions in key areas, such as smart parking (Smart Parking), smart mobility (Smart Mobility) or smart trade (Smart Retail).
They will be accompanied by a multidisciplinary team made up of designers, developers, marketers and mentors, in order to supervise ideas and transform them into real and achievable projects. The latter will then be presented to a professional jury made up of experts.
The organizers have announced that the best projects will benefit from financial support from 100,000 DA, intended to encourage the continuation of the development of innovation after the competition. This boost opens young perspectives to young people to launch start-ups in the service of the national economy.
Participation remains open to students, project leaders, young entrepreneurs (startupers) and self -employed (freelancers), making the event a real inclusive youth platform.
In addition to hackathon, the third edition of the caravans of the future will be held, devoted to the promotion of digital and financial culture. They are organized under the high patronage of the High Commission for Digitization, the Ministry of the Economy of Knowledge, Start-ups and Micro Enterprises, the Ministry of Tourism and Crafts, as well as the Wilaya of Algiers.
The program provides practical workshops, interactive demonstrations, electronic payment simulations, fun activities and meetings with experts.
After Algiers, the caravans will continue their tour through several wilayas, including Annaba, Béjaïa, Oran, Mostaganem and Ghardaïa, with thematic conferences at each stage. In Annaba, the debates will focus on the role of innovation and skills centers in the digitization process, while in Béjaïa, reflection will be focused on the national strategy for generalization of electronic payment terminals (TPE) and mobile payment services.
This double event (hackathon and caravans) is a key step in the digital transformation process of Algeria. It combines innovation carried by young people and institutional support, while emphasizing the integration of technologies in daily life and in the economy. It also represents an opportunity to discover the latest technologies offered by national partners in the field of digital services and solutions.
