Les dirigeants africains saluent le rôle de l’Algérie – Le Jeune Indépendant


The pioneering role of Algeria in the development of the African continent and the strengthening of its economic integration was praised by African leaders during their participation in the presidential debate session, organized this Thursday in Algiers, at the opening of the 4th edition of the intra-African trade fair (IATF 2025).

Chaired by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, this interactive session on the African continental free trade area (ZLECAF) took place at the International Conference Center (CIC) Abdelatif-Rahal, in Algiers, in the presence of the leaders of ten countries participating in the IATF.

The Tunisian president, Kaïs Saïed, estimated that the Zlecaf represents a dream for all Africans, generation after generation, who must come true, calling for a new approach to concretize this “civilizational project which aims to build the continent in an integrated manner and to allow peoples to find their full sovereignty over their designed resources so that Africa is Africans”.

For his part, the president of the Libyan presidential council, Mohamed Younès El-Menfi, praised the good organization of this 4e Edition of the Fair, expressing the ambition of his country to play a more important role in promoting economic integration of the continent and working to create a common value.

In turn, the Mauritanian president, Mohamed Ould Cheikh el-Ghazouani, highlighted the need to accelerate African integration through common projects for more exchanges, like the Tindouf-Zouératic road, which Algeria is building, stressing that this integration requires passing from the extraction of raw materials Valuation of these resources and their transformation locally.

For his part, the President of the Republic of Chad, Mahamat Idriss Déby, expressed his thanks to the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for the contribution of Algeria to Africa in order to strengthen intra-African trade, to promote partnerships and to consolidate its economic place internationally.

For the Chadian president, Algeria plays a pioneering role in the realization of the main ambitions of the continent, stressing the will of its country to enhance the trans -Saharan route with a view to developing trade with neighboring African countries and benefiting from access to the Mediterranean basin.

He considered, in this context, that the ZLECAF represented a strategic choice capable of establishing long -term exchange and integration bridges, as is a lever for the realization of the economic sovereignty of the continent, and the only way out for the realization of the economic boom of its countries.

The President of the Republic of Mozambique, Daniel Chapo, praised the efforts made by Algeria for the success of this event, by mobilizing significant resources, affirming the determination of his country to cooperate for the total emancipation of the continent, in particular by working to transform the ZLECAF into a concrete reality.

For her part, the vice-president of the Republic of Namibia, Lucia Witbooi, expressed her lively thanks to Algeria for welcoming the 4the Edition of the IATF “at a time when Africa must make important decisions” and “conduct its development itself”.

For his part, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Burundi, Nestor Ntahirtuye, expressed his gratitude to Algeria for the warm welcome which embodies African authenticity, considering the fair as an opportunity to solve the problems and lift the obstacles which prevent intra-African trade from reaching high levels.

The vice-president of the Kenya Republic, Kithure Kindiki, insisted on the importance of intensifying cooperation between the countries of the continent, in order to achieve economic independence and get people out of poverty.

The session ended with an intervention by the former President of the Republic of Niger, Mahamadou Issoufou, in which he declared that Algeria, under the direction of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, managed to make a place of choice in the African economy, “by becoming 3e The greater African economy, which allowed him to take the leadership of the continent and to set up in pivotal countries in economic integration and openness ”.
