President Abdelmadjid Tebboune visited, Thursday evening at the Palais des Expositions des Pins Maritimes (Algiers), the various stands of the 4th edition of the intra-African trade fair (IATF 2025), which is held under the slogan “Passerelle to new opportunities”. The President of the Republic was accompanied by the acting Prime Minister, Sifi Ghrieb, members of the government and senior state officials, as well as the President of the Consultative Council of the IATF, the former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, of the Commissioner of the Fair, Larbi Latrèche, and representatives of the diplomatic body accredited in Algeria.
On this occasion, the President of the Republic visited the stands of national and private companies, start-ups and African institutions and organizations, as well as that of the African Union. In a statement to the press at ICC Abdelatif-Rahal, after the official opening ceremony of the IATF 2025, Thursday, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune stressed the importance of the contribution of African youth to the development of the continent, whose population is mainly made up of young people.
This event is organized “for youth”, said the President of the Republic, stressing that “young people, who constitute 70% of the population of the continent, must play a leading role in building Africa”. On Wednesday evening, President Tebboune spoke, at the Houari-Boumediene International Airport Honor, with Tunisian President Kais Saïed.
The meeting took place in the presence of the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the national community abroad and African affairs, Ahmed Attaf, and the adviser to the President of the Republic, in charge of diplomatic affairs, Amar Abba. Previously, the President of the Republic welcomed at Houari-Boumediene international airport, his Tunisian counterpart arrived in Algiers as part of his participation in IATF 2025. In the same circumstances, President Tebboune spoke with the president of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, as well as with the president of Chad, Mahamat Idriss Déby.
In the same context, President Tebboune welcomed on Wednesday at the Algiers International Airport Houari-Boumediene, the president of the Libyan presidential council, Mohamed Younes El-Menfi which participates in the IATF 2025. The figures of the IATF 2025: more than 2,000 companies in Africa and elsewhere, including nearly 200 Algerian companies, and delegations representing 140 countries. Some 35,000 professional visitors expected; Conclusion of trade and investment agreements worth more than $ 44 billion.
