African heads of state participating in the presidential debate session, organized the day before yesterday in Algiers, at the opening of the 4th edition of the IATF 2025, all praised, during their speeches, the pioneering role of Algeria in the development of the African continent and the strengthening of its economic integration.
First to intervene in the 4th edition of the intra-African trade fair (IATF) 2025 of Algiers, the former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo and in his capacity of the President of the Fair Advisory Council (IATF), praised, the day before yesterday in Algiers, the efforts of Algeria to make the 2025 edition that she houses from September 4 to 10, The launch of this event. In a speech delivered during the opening ceremony of the 4th edition, the former nearby Nigerian from 1999 to 2007 indicated that this fair, which has established itself in recent years as “the most important meeting of trade and investment on the continent, is not a simple event, but the symbol of the economic renaissance of Africa”, he urged.
Speaking in turn, the President of the Republic of Chad, Mahamat Idriss Déby, first expressed thanks to the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune for the contribution of Algeria to Africa in order to strengthen intra-African trade, to promote partnerships and to consolidate its economic place internationally.
For his part, the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Daniel Chapo, praised the efforts made by Algeria for the success of this event, by mobilizing significant means, affirming the determination of his country to cooperate for the total emancipation of the continent, in particular by working to transform the ZLECAF in concrete reality.
On this subject, the President of the Republic said that he shared with his Mozambican counterpart this firm will to develop and promote Afric-African exchanges, recalling historical relations binding the two countries, declaring: “We were yesterday companions on the way of liberation and we are today companions on the development path,” observed the president of Mozambique.
For her part, the vice-president of the Republic of Namibia, Ms. Lucia Witbooi, expressed her lively thanks to Algeria for welcoming the 4th edition of the IATF “at a time when Africa must make important decisions” and “conduct its development itself,” he said.
In turn, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Burundi, Nestor Ntahirtuye, considered the Fair as an opportunity to solve problems and lift obstacles that prevent intra-African trade from reaching high levels.
For his part, the president of the Libyan presidential council, Mohamed Younes El-Menfi, praised the good organization of this 4th edition of the Fair, expressing the ambition of his country to play a more important role in promoting the economic integration of the continent and working to create a common value. Commenting on this intervention, the President of the Republic expressed his hope of seeing Libya regaining his place in Africa, affirming the support of Algeria to the stability of this brother country. The Tunisian President, Kaïs Saïed, said that the Zlecaf represents a dream for all Africans, generation after generation, and who must come true, calling for adopting a new approach to concretize this “civilizational project which aims to build the continent in an integrated manner and to allow peoples to find their full sovereignty over their robbed resources for Africa”.
For his part, the Mauritanian President, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, highlighted the need to accelerate African integration through common projects for more exchanges, like the Tindouf-Zouératic road, which Algeria is building, stressing that this integration requires passing from the extraction of raw materials Valuation of these resources and their transformation locally. The session ended with an intervention by the former President of the Republic of Niger, Mahamadou Issoufou, in which he declared that Algeria, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, managed to make a place of choice in the African economy, “by becoming the 3rd greatest African economy, which allowed him to take the leadership of the continent and pivotal countries in economic integration and opening ”.
