A few days before the start of the school year 2025-2026, the Ministry of National Education published an announcement much awaited by thousands of teachers. According to the information contained in the press release, the ministry first wanted to reassure the teachers of the three levels (primary, medium and secondary) having filed requests for transfer from their assignment administration but which have not obtained satisfaction. “Once the teachers’ appointment procedures, whose transfer requests have been accepted and taking into account the vacant positions in their resulting origin, these positions will be fully used, without exception, to respond to the remaining requests, before using the recruitment of contractual teachers,” said the press release.

With this in mind, the teachers concerned will be able to consult the results directly via their personal account on the Department’s digital platform from September 7, 2025 on the link https://ostad.education.dz. Those whose request will be retained will then have to choose the schools where they wish to be assigned between September 7 at 2 p.m. and September 9 at midnight. At the same time, the ministry also announced advances concerning the recruitment of contractual teachers. According to the ministry, this digital approach, already adopted for several years, aims to guarantee more transparency and to reduce administrative slowness which once characterized this type of operations.
