The Secretary of State to the Minister of Energy, in charge of renewable energy, Noureddine Yassaâ, called to strengthen intra-African cooperation in the energy field through the networking of research centers and universities to develop joint research projects in the service of energy integration.
Yassaâ intervened during the opening ceremony of the African innovation stand at the 4th edition of the intra-African trade fair (IATF 2025), underlined “the central role of innovation to meet the energy challenges in Africa and ensure energy sources for all, in accordance with the objectives of the 2063 agenda”, calling to strengthen cooperation through the sharing of successful experiences, expertise and participation in joint research projects and open innovation. He also said that the training structures available to Algeria in the fields of hydrocarbons, electricity and mines contribute to the training of Algerian skills and to the strengthening of the technical skills of African executives.
On this occasion, Mr. Yassaâ visited the exhibition of innovations, where he was inquired by innovative projects developed by Algerian universities and research centers, which offer advanced solutions in the fields of AI, biotechnology, sustainable agriculture and renewable energies.
Greeting the level of creativity of young research teams, the Secretary of State insisted on the importance of supporting these initiatives which contribute to the achievement of sustainable development objectives in Africa. He has, by the same, highlighted the great potential available to Algeria in terms of research and development in the field of renewable energies.
The opening ceremony took place in the presence of the several senior executives, including the Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the chief of staff of the Ministry of National Education, the Director General of the Promotion of Quality, Innovation and Industrial Security, and the Director of Research Development at the African Import-Export Bank (Afreximbank).
