Intra-African Commerce Fair (IATF 2025)

The work of the 4th edition of the intra-African trade fair (IATF 2025) continued yesterday in Algiers, at the Palais des Expositions (Pins Maritimes) and at the International Conference Center, Abdelatif-Rahal. On the program of this African commercial event, placed under the theme “A bridge towards new opportunities”, the continuation of the Forum on Trade and Investment in Africa, with several panels relating to the role of small and medium-sized enterprises, the contribution of women in trade, as well as the use of local currencies in intra-African exchanges. But also the commercial exhibition, the African Automobile Fair, B2B and B2G business meetings, as well as the activities of the African Research and Innovation Pole, the African Union program dedicated to startups (at Youth Startup Program) and African Days of Creativity ” canex ”.
The second day was devoted to the holding of several events, including the day of African diasporas, chaired by the acting Prime Minister, Sifi Ghrieb, charged by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to preside over the opening of the works. Insisting on this occasion on the essential contribution of African diasporas to the development of the continent, while recalling the particular importance that Algeria gives to its national community. Sifi Ghrieb also recalled that the President of the Republic never ceased to place the national community abroad at the heart of his concerns and to give him particular attention, stressing that this meeting is an opportunity to reconnect the spiritual and emotional bond between African diasporas abroad and their continent of origin, and constitutes an adequate space to assert the major importance of African diasporas and of African ancestry to the development of the continent.
The summit of African investment promotion agencies, and a ministerial round table entitled “Intra-African trade: from vision to reality” were also on the menu. In addition to the launch of the Trade and Investment Forum in Africa (from 5 to 7 September), the African Automobile Salon (September 5-10), and Canex (African Creative Nexus) (September 5-10). And the continuation of the commercial exhibition, B2B and B2G business meetings, and the activities of the African Research and Innovation Pole and the African Union program dedicated to startups (at Youth Startup Program).
Two ministerial round tables have also taken place. The first was devoted to the implementation of the African continental free trade area (ZLECAF), and the second to continental integration in the automotive industry. Placed under the slogan “Passerelles towards new opportunities”, this 4th edition of the IATF is held from September 4 to 10, in Algiers with the participation of delegations from 140 countries and more than 2,000 African and international companies, including around 200 Algerian women.
This African commercial event plans to welcome nearly 35,000 professional visitors and should lead to the signing of trade and investment agreements estimated at more than $ 44 billion. With the aim of taking advantage of a dynamic likely to generate more than $ 44 billion in trade and investment agreements. And an ambition to capture at least 20 % of the expected contracts, or nearly $ 9 billion.
