2025 athletics Worlds: the Algerian delegation flies away for Tokyo

The Algerian athletics delegation, made up of nine (9) athletes, left Houari-Boumediene international airport on Saturday afternoon to Tokyo, via Cairo, to take part in the world athletics championships (September 13-21), said the Algerian Discipline Federation (FAA).
The journey of Algerian athletes first led them to the Egyptian capital where they spent the night, before rallying Tokyo on Sunday.
Algeria will be represented in this planetary meeting by ten athletes (eight men and two ladies), qualified thanks to the minima or their world ranking.
The FAA also indicated that Zahra Tatar (hammer throwing) is currently continuing an intensive preparation course in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) under the leadership of its coach Hakim Toumi. She will join the rest of the delegation on September 9 directly in Tokyo.
The FAA stressed that the national selection approaches this meeting with great ambitions, the objective being to achieve good performances and to hoist high national colors in the face of a raised competition bringing together the best athletes in the world.

– 800 meters (gentlemen): Slimane Moula, Djamel Sedjati and Mohamed Ali Gouaned
– 1500 meters (gentlemen): Haïthem Chenitef
– Marathon (gentlemen): Abderrezzak Charik and Mohamed Benyettou
– Marathon (ladies): Amina Bettiche
– Triple jump (gentlemen): Yasser
Mohamed Tahar Triki
– Disc throwing (gentlemen):
Osama Khenoussi
– Hammer throwing (ladies):
Zahra Tatar.
