The national production capacities in various fields of several large economic enterprises in the public sector which take part in the 4th edition of the intra-African trade fair (IATF), organized in Algiers from September 4 to 10, 2025, are highlighted at the Algerian pavilion of the Fair. Aiming, according to the press releases from the participating said, to offer a clear image of the Algerian economic fabric, while entering this opportunity to conclude partnerships with their African counterparts.
This is the case of the Industrial Group of Ciments of Algeria (GICA) which participates in this edition in order to strengthen its exports to the countries of the continent and to promote its products and services in order to conquer new markets for the export of cement. Offering, he said in a press release, support from African countries in the fields of training, assembly, industrial maintenance, as well as innovative technological solutions to improve productivity and efficiency, in addition to consulting services in terms of building material compliance with local and international standards.
Recalling his contribution to the national self-sufficiency in cement and the positioning of Algeria among the exporting countries of this product which he ships to several destinations on the five continents, notably Brazil, Peru, Honduras, Colombia, Italy, Spain, Poland, the United Kingdom, Mauritania, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Ghana, Cameroon and Cameroon and Cameroon and Cameroon Gambia, the GICA group noted that its exports reached 6.40 million tonnes in 2023, for an overall value estimated at nearly 24 billion DA. In 2024, they exceeded 6 million tonnes for a value of 18 billion DA. For its part, the Sonelgaz group which takes part in this event through a stand where several trades and activities of the company and its subsidiaries have been presented, also noted the strong crowds of visitors from different African countries and their interest in the various services offered.
While the Sonarem group aims to expand its network of relations with African partners with various expertise in the mining field, to publicize its major projects and its technical know-how, as well as to expose its products intended for export, such as phosphate, salt in its different forms, marble and calcium carbonate
Participating in the IATF under the slogan “Partners for the valuation of mineral resources in favor of sustainable development”, the public group intends, through its presence, concretize its ambitious vision of leadership in the sustainable exploitation of mining resources, in order to contribute to the diversification of the national economy, strengthen industrial independence, and develop local manufacturing industries, while complying with international standards.
Finally, the Sonatrach group which also takes part in this event, organized under the slogan “Passerelles towards new opportunities” affirms that its participation illustrates its central position as a strategic actor in the African energy landscape and confirms its constant commitment to strengthen its presence on the African markets and to explore the opportunities for cooperation in the various fields of energy, in particular the energy transition and renewable energies.
