The President’s praise in Sonatrach and Sonelgaz

In June 2022, on the sidelines of the installation of the first stone of the project to carry out a seawater desalination station in Cap Blanc, in the commune of Aïn El Kerma, as part of his working and inspection visit to the wilaya of Oran, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune had mentioned Sonatrach in very complimentary terms. He said that Sonatrach was “one of the powerful levers of national sovereignty”.

Sonatrach is “the shield that protects Algeria after its armed forces, activists and citizens,” he insisted. On this occasion, President Tebboune had sent his sincere thanks to all the Sonatrach workers for their efforts and their patriotism, stressing that the history will remember that this national society has allowed Algeria to “make its voice heard loud and strong and keep its head high in a very sensitive situation”.

As a reminder, the director-general president of the Sonatrach group, Rachid Hachichi, held, at the headquarters of the group’s general management, bilateral meetings with managers of international companies participating in the IATF 2025. In the same way, President Tebboune had mentioned Sonelgaz. It was last March, during a meeting of the Council of Ministers he chaired. He had encouraged “the Sonelgaz company to play a leader’s role at the regional and continental level, given its highly qualified capacities and staff”. On this occasion, the president had once again expressed his “gratitude to all the workers and executives of Sonelgaz for their efforts aimed at connecting electricity at the heart of Algeria and for all investment projects in different sectors”. He had welcomed the efforts made by the Sonelgaz company with a view to achieving integrated development and lifting the obstacles that overwhelm the lives of citizens.

He had transmitted his congratulations and his personal thanks, as well as all the consideration of the Council of Ministers to workers, managers and executives of the Sonelgaz company which aligns himself on the Sonatrach company in the field of investment and services, in strengthening the national economy. Last July, on the sidelines of the annual grade and medal ceremony, President Tebboune had awarded, at the Palais du Peuple in Algiers, the medal of the Order of National Merit to the rank “Achir” to the President and CEO (CEO) of Sonelgaz, Mourad Adjal, for its colossal services and recognized in this vital sector, as well as for its major contribution to the promotion of the national economy, but Also for its efforts deployed at the head of the company at the service of citizens throughout the national territory.
