The National People’s Assembly (APN) opened its ordinary parliamentary session (2025-2026) yesterday on Monday Monday during a plenary session chaired by the president of the Assembly, Brahim Boughali.
The opening ceremony took place in the presence of the President of the Council of the Nation, Azouz Nasri, the president of the Constitutional Court, Ms. Leïla Aslaoui, Prime Minister, Sifi Ghrieb and members of the government.
In his speech pronounced on this occasion, Mr. Boughali affirmed that the APN “will continue to assume his functions until the end of the legislative mandate with the same resolution and determination, leaving one more imprint which consecrates developed parliamentary practices and traditions”.
The 9th legislature was “a pivotal stage in terms of achievements and adaptation to the deep reforms initiated by the President of the Republic,
Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, “he said.
Boughali welcomed the “important role” assumed by the APN during this legislature, with regard to adaptation to reforms, through the examination, debate and vote of “fundamental laws having contributed to the strengthening of governance and the anchoring of the rule of law, in addition to supporting the national economy, diversifying its sources of income, developing the educational and university system and improving the social framework of the citizen”.
After stressing that the APN has succeeded in strengthening its role, through the digitization of several operations, thanks to the adoption of modern techniques “which will have a significant impact on the development of legislative and control action”,
Mr. Boughali discussed the challenges and issues “taken up during this legislature, with wisdom and perseverance, thanks to the combination of the efforts of all, government, deputies and institutions”.
