The National Steel Society (SNS holding company) concluded 13 memorandums of understanding of a total value of 2.48 billion dollars with eight (8) African countries and China partners during the intra-African trade fair (IATF-2025), which was held at the Palais des Expositions des Pins Maritime (Algiers), from 4 to 10 The day before yesterday, a statement from the company on Sunday. Specifying that these agreements reflect the strategic orientation of Algeria to the diversification of its exports, support for economic diplomacy, the promotion of intra-African industrial cooperation, the consolidation of the place of Algerian industry and the strengthening of its competitiveness at regional and international levels.
These strategic partnerships, continued the same source, were sealed with actors from Libya, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Egypt, Senegal and China, via, said the company in its press release, its subsidiaries Anabib, Encc, Fondal and Algerian Qatari Steel (AQS). “The total value of these agreements amounts to $ 2.480 billion, the greatest value recorded among public industrial groups in Algeria,” said the same source specifying that these partnerships aim to expand export prospects and strengthen the presence of Algeria on African markets, serving common development objectives and continental industrial integration.
The Algerian Qatari Steel (AQS) won four contracts for a total amount of $ 420 million, including a first of more than 195 million, signed with the company Eni Steel, on the export of long steel in West Africa.
Two other agreements, concluded with the Libyan group Al Najah, provide deliveries of steel products for more than $ 103 million in addition to a contract of 120 million with the Nigerian company Sahel, intended for the West African market. The subsidiary also sealed a major agreement with the Development Bank Shelter Africa, an amount exceeding $ 1.2 billion.
Anabib, for its part, initialed six major contracts, including an investment agreement of $ 490 million with Egyptian El Sewdy Electric for the development of agricultural infrastructure and irrigation canals, and concluded from other agreements with Algeria Faw Trucks Industries, Mansour Emgs and CFTS Senegal, thus expanding its presence in West Africa. Anabib also engaged with two Chinese partners, Sarl Habicare and Shanxi Installation Group, on projects totaling nearly $ 95 million.
Finally, the ECC has signed a contract of 104 million euros with Faw Algeria Industries for the manufacture of truck bodywork, while Fondal paved the way for future cooperation with Senegalese and Libyan partners.
