The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced, this Wednesday, the opening of 4,112 budgetary positions for the recruitment of teachers for the financial year 2025. This decision, made public by Minister Kamel Baddari, comes a few days before the start of the academic year 2025-2026, scheduled for Monday, September 22.
According to figures communicated by the Minister, 2,941 positions will be devoted to teacher-researchers, thus constituting the most important part of this recruitment plan. The system also provides 719 positions for university hospital teachers, a body attached to the functioning of medical faculties and university hospital structures. In addition, 156 positions will be allocated to permanent researchers. Finally, 185 contractual positions complement this distribution.
This decision comes in a context marked by a growing need for university enrollment, linked to the constant increase in the number of students and the need to strengthen the educational and scientific capacities of establishments, faced with the pressing requirements of universities and grandes écoles across the country.
It should be noted that the Minister has not yet specified the conditions or the recruitment methods. No indication has also been given on the precise calendar of these recruitments, for the moment. The practical modalities linked to the organization of competitions and the distribution of positions between the different universities … They should be specified later.
