Béni-Abbès airport project

Geotechnical studies relating to the construction of a future national and international airport in the wilaya of Béni-Abbès, should be completed before the end of the current year, we learned from the Local Public Works Directorate (DTP).
According to Hachemi Azzouz, head of the DTP airport infrastructure service, these studies, carried out by the Algerian company of infrastructure studies (Saeti), aim to determine the technical construction conditions, to analyze the nature of the soil, and to ensure the compliance of the project with the standards in force in town planning and construction.
They are part of a project on the realization of an airport in the Z’Ghmara region, about 40 km southwest of Béni-Abbès, near the RN6A national road, it is said.
A 3,430 hectare property plate has already been reserved to accommodate this strategic infrastructure, which will contribute to the stimulation of the economic development of the region.
