Between criminal biology and 3D printing for the automobile, the University of Oran confirms its ambition to innovate. Wali Samir Chebani attended this Thursday, the launch of a new unprecedented course in criminal biology at the school of organic sciences and inaugurated the “Nature 3D” project at the École Nationte Polytechnique Maurice Audin, intended for the manufacture of automobile parts on a large scale.
His tour has also highlighted the efforts of other establishments in the wilaya to modernize higher education, strengthen applied research and encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship among young academics.
During a visit made in several university establishments in Oran, the Wali Samir Chebani wanted to ensure preparations for the academic school year and to find the efforts made to bring the training of economic and industrial needs closer. He was accompanied by the rector of the University of Oran as well as several executives from the local executive.
At the Higher School of Biological Sciences, created in 2017, attention was paid to the opening of a new course in criminal biology, a first of its kind in Algeria. This specialty completes the training already offered in molecular biology, enzymatic engineering and immunotechnology, and could have direct applications in forensic surveys and applied scientific research.
The introduction of this innovative field of study reflects the will of academic managers to expand the training offer and adapt the curriculum to the current challenges of society.
The visit then led the wali to the MAURICIA AUDIN Polytechnic National School, where it inaugurated the “Nature 3D” project, intended to develop large -scale 3D printing for the manufacture of automotive parts. Thanks to a modern technological platform, active research laboratories and dynamic scientific clubs, this school plays a key role in industrial innovation and the transfer of know-how to local businesses.
Other establishments have also been on the tour program, like the Higher School of Economy, which is focusing on supporting young entrepreneurs, the School of Higher Amour Ahmed, which trains nearly a thousand teachers this year, or even engineering and telecommunications schools, with modern equipment to provide quality training.
Through this visit, the wali has reaffirmed the importance of higher education turned towards innovation and economic diversification, emphasizing the strategic role of universities in the training of tomorrow’s skills, sustainable development and the emergence of a real scientific and technological ecosystem in Oran.
