The 7th edition of the International Facades, Window and Doors Salon (Siffup), as well as the 2nd edition of the fitted kitchen and bathroom fair, were opened the day before yesterday at the Palais des Expositions des Pins Maritime (Algiers).
In addition to the participation of a hundred national and foreign exhibitors, the event is distinguished this year by the joint holding of the two salons, gathered for the first time on the same platform, with the aim of enhancing the synergies between the outer envelope of the building and the interior design, in particular the kitchens and bathrooms equipped. This is indicated by the marketing and communication manager of SFF Event, organizer of the show, Othmane Benaldi, who added that this edition aims to create bridges between companies in the sector and to attract foreign investors to the Algerian market.
“We want to encourage productive investments in building and building materials, in addition to commercial operations,” said Benaldi, adding that “the event highlights the latest innovations in glazing and ecological materials, designed to improve the energy performance of buildings”.
Among international participants are exhibitors from Africa, Europe and Asia. As for Algerian exhibitors, there is the ONYX company specializing in the transformation of so -called “solid surface” materials, used both in kitchens and in hospitals. The company is focusing on export and is already working on a new range of bathroom furniture for Europe and neighboring countries.
For its part, the Presta Cuisine company, attracts visitors with its custom kitchens and dressing room. Its representative has highlighted the growth of the internal market and the growing interest of Algerians for “aesthetic and functional” solutions.
Made of solid wood, MDF or beech, their furniture is aimed at meeting the various tastes of the national market. Another exhibitor, the company Innovate Doors has a range of high -performance interior doors. Feriel Abdelali, his representative, notes a strong local demand.
“Our strategy is to ensure national availability by installing a network of distributors through several wilayas. We are also studying export proposals to Tunisia, Mauritania and Côte d’Ivoire, where demand is growing rapidly, “she said. In addition to companies, the show also welcomes professional associations, design offices and training institutions, among them the association of former students of the Ecole Polytechnique d’Architecture et d’Orbanisme (Epau) in Algiers.
“As an architects, our mission is also to guide choices to innovative materials, often produced locally,” said Karim Sitayeb, secretary general of the association. For him, promoting local products makes it possible to reduce dependence on imports, especially since many companies have proven their ability to meet energy and technical standards, especially in the fields of ventilated facades, double glazing or composite panels.
The event, which continues until September 23, also offers a rich program of technical conferences and professional meetings.
