Boudjemaâ announces the return of Algeria to the international legal scene

Works of the 7th Africa-Europe meetings of the bailiffs in Algiers

Considered the second largest professional meeting after the World Congress of Bailiffs, the 7th Afro-European meeting of bailiffs, held yesterday in Algiers, does not constitute an ordinary event but with a great explanation and a strong reason for being. By welcoming this major Afro-European event, Algeria is back on the continental and international legal scene.
In the presence of 180 foreign participants from 33 countries from different continents, African, European, American and Asian, as well as more than 700 Algerian participants, the Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals, Lotfi Boudjemaâ officially inaugurated, yesterday Wednesday in Algiers, the beginning of the 7th African-Europe meetings of the bailiffs.
Drawing the opening speech, the Minister of Justice stressed that by welcoming this great continental and international legal event, Algeria confirms its great will and its return to the international legal scene.
“It constitutes a confirmation of its presence and its international stature at all levels,” said Lotfi Boudjemaâ. In his speech to open the work of this meeting, organized under the high patronage of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and established by the National Chamber of Bailiffs (CNHJ), in partnership with the Ministry of Justice and in collaboration with the International Union of Bailiffs (UIHJ), Boudjemaâ said that ” To ensure a recognized African presence and to fully assert its international stature in all areas and at all levels, “said the Minister of Justice. The latter estimated that this event, that Algeria welcomes “with an assertive capacity” and which is distinguished by a high -level participation, constitutes “an important achievement for the great legal and judicial family, both regional and international”.
He supported his remarks by the participation of 180 guests from 33 countries of the African, European, American and Asian continents, to this demonstration which represents the greatest professional meeting after the World Congress of Bailiffs. It should be emphasized, these meetings will also see the participation of the president of the UIHJ, Marc Schmitz, of the president of the African Union of Bailiffs and Judicial Officers (UAHJ), Rosine Zongo, and the secretary general of the conference of the Hague of private international law (HCCH), Christophe Bernasconi.
“By sheltering this important event, Algeria confirms its presence on the international scene, especially since the organization of this meeting comes after competition with another country, which constitutes an international recognition of the competence of the country’s professional institutions and its attachment to international standards,” said a statement from yesterday of the Ministry of Justice. During these meetings, the participants will debate the evolution of the role of the bailiff in society in the light of digital and social transformations, in addition to its role in mediation, the protection of rights and the service of an effective public service.
