The program includes oral communications and a poster session covering a wide range of themes linked to the effects of earthquakes on architectural monuments in Algeria, a country with high seismic activity, with the contribution of Turkish experts.
In her opening speech, Professor Amina Aid Hamad Foufa, president of the conference and director of the environment, technology, architecture and heritage service laboratory, insisted on the importance of preserving urban heritage.
In the same wake, Professor Mohandad Naima, director of the Blida 1 University Institute of Architecture, told Independent young that it is imperative to take into account the seismic risks on historic monuments. According to her, this requires the integration of new technologies and technologies to predict and manage the damage caused by earthquakes.
She also highlighted the interest of this subject for doctoral students, who will be able to benefit from this research in their work and, once graduates, create small businesses specializing in the implementation and application of these modern mechanisms and technologies in the field.
The University of Blida is thus one of the reference academic poles in the field of architectural heritage, thanks to the importance it attaches to its economic, social and cultural dimensions.
