Tebboune denounced the attitude of certain sectors which voluntarily delay the digital transition, preferring “to work in the shadows”. “He who acts with integrity does not have to fear the figures,” he said, calling the reluctant “bats”.
By the end of 2025, Algeria could accelerate its transition by activating three priority levers, said Bouabdallah said. This is the deployment of digital infrastructure (broadband, centralized platforms, cybersecurity), the interconnection of administrative information systems and investment in human capital, via the training of civil servants and the awareness of citizens, he said, adding that digital transformation is not a purpose, but a continuous process of evolution and improvement.
To illustrate his point on digitization, the president also highlighted concrete examples, citing land and payment of taxes. The introduction of digitization among notaries, he explained, aims to fight dirty money and to establish more tax equity. “It is not normal that a owner of a property with swimming pool is imposed on the same level as a citizen with modest housing,” he insisted.
In the same context, the Head of State has unveiled a new series of measures to strengthen the purchasing power of citizens. Increases are provided in this direction, from 2026 affecting specific categories of the population. He cited as a priority a revaluation of the unemployment allowance, the students’ scholarships and probably pension pensions according to state revenues.
This initiative is part of a continuous policy of support for households and the fight against the erosion of purchasing power, a major issue for millions of Algerians. President Tebboune also insisted on the sustainability of this commitment, affirming his determination to continue to improve the living conditions of citizens throughout the 1920s and 2027.
Regarding the appointment of Yacine Oualid at the head of the Ministry of Agriculture, the president justified this decision by affirming that modern agriculture is above all a case of “science and technology”, an area in which “the new Minister Excellent”. He reaffirmed his desire to modernize agriculture to achieve self-sufficiency and stressed the role of Algeria as a African leader in the start-up ecosystem.
In addition, he reported appreciable exchange reserves covering a year and a half of importation, as he praised the success of the tourism allowance.
