Vers l’intégration de la carte électronique (eSIM) dans les offres de services

Towards the integration of the electronic card (eSIM) into service offers

Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications:

The Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Mr. Ali Zerrouki, chaired, the day before yesterday, Monday, a meeting with the president of the Post and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, representatives of mobile telephone operators and representatives of the National Frequency Agency, devoted to the integration of the electronic card (eSIM) in service offers.
In a statement, the ministry said that the minister had underlined on this occasion that this technology represented “a major advance in mobile telephony services, as it allows multiple lines to be activated on a single device without the need for a physical SIM card, which helps to simplify procedures, reduce imports of SIM cards and strengthen digital security”.
He added that the adoption of eSIM is part of the “roadmap for digital transformation that accompanies the preparation for the launch of the fifth generation network”, calling for “close coordination between operators and the regulatory authority to ensure the availability of infrastructure and the harmonization of technical standards”.
