Accompanied by central executives, the Director General of Civil Protection, Colonel Boualem Boughlaf began, the day before yesterday, a two-day working and inspection visit to the wilaya of Tindouf, as part of the implementation of the annual program aimed at strengthening operational availability and raising the level of performance of the various structures in the sector.
This working visit is part of the regular and local monitoring of the activities of the DGPC, with the aim of examining the administrative and operational means made available to the wilaya directorates, of evaluating the degree of availability of personnel and equipment, and of verifying the implementation of programs intended to strengthen intervention capacities in the face of various risks, in particular those linked to the geographical and climatic specificities of the Southern regions.
This was made known in a statement to the press by the deputy director of statistics and communication at the DGPC, Nassim Bernaoui.
Mr. Boughlaf inspected, during this visit, several operational units, such as main units, secondary units and advanced posts, both in border areas and in remote regions, and which constitute strategic points in the rapid intervention system, he added.
The visit program also includes examining the progress of projects intended to strengthen operational coverage, as well as the equipment of new units and modern administrative headquarters, in order to improve working conditions and ensure increased efficiency in the field, continued the deputy director of statistics and communication.
The DGPC will also hold meetings with local executives and Civil Protection agents, to evaluate their working conditions, collect their grievances and suggestions for improving performance and monitor the implementation of the various training programs, both operational and preventive, according to the same official.
During this working visit to the wilaya, Colonel Boughlaf inquired closely about the human and material resources mobilized for effective intervention in the event of an emergency and the management of various accidents in difficult conditions, in addition to taking stock of the progress of the work and the conformity of the equipment to the most recent technical standards.
The Gara Djebilet iron deposit and the land border post ”Chahid Mustapha Ben Boulaïd” constituted two main stages of the visit of the Director General of Civil Protection, who undertook to install advanced posts there to ensure coverage of industrial and commercial activities as well as possible risks of accidents in these areas.
This visit reflects the desire of the DGPC to anchor the culture of field evaluation and to maintain a permanent dialogue with operational units, with the aim of strengthening complementarity between the central and local levels, supporting logistical and human capacities, and guaranteeing a quality public service, meeting the expectations of citizens, while ensuring better responsiveness and efficiency in the face of various risks and disasters, underlined executives in the sector.
