The Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, Mr. Abdelkader Djellaoui, declared on Tuesday in Médéa that “the programming and execution of road projects must be part of a regional perspective in order to guarantee interconnection between the different wilayas”.
“From now on, all projects in the public works and basic infrastructure sector must respond to a logic of complementarity between regions, because their implementation will benefit a set of regions and must not be carried out separately,” affirmed the minister during his visit to the wilaya of Médéa.
According to Mr. Djellaoui, “the objective of this approach is to guarantee interconnection between several wilayas and contribute to optimizing their impact on the socio-economic development of these regions”. The minister also insisted on “the quality of project work and strict compliance with implementation standards, so as to guarantee the sustainability of projects and avoid additional expenses.”
During the first stage of his visit, the minister inspected the progress of the doubling work on the section of the national road N-127 linking El-Ayoune (Tissemsilt) and Ksar-El-Boukhari (Médéa), over a length of 73 km and which has an estimated progress rate of 95% and several sections of which have been put into operation. Mr. Djellaoui also inspected the construction works of the Ksar-El-Boukhari-Boughezoul railway line, over a distance of 42 km, of which the earthworks of a 30 km section reached a rate of 20%. In this regard, he called on the companies in charge of this project to “combine their efforts to complete this line on time, which constitutes an essential link in the Algiers-Tamenrasset railway line,” he assured. During the third and final stage of his visit to the wilaya of Médéa, Mr. Djellaoui followed a presentation on the progress of a section of the 4th Ring Road which connects the town of Khemis-Meliana (Ain-Defla) to Berrouaghia, over a distance of 67 km. He instructed those responsible for the project to deliver, by the end of October at the latest, the section of road between Djendel (Ain-Defla) and Hannacha, with a length of 10 km. Another 12 km section which connects Hannacha and Bouaichoune, still in the wilaya of Médéa, will be delivered next March, according to the commitments of the construction company. For the rest of the sections, which are experiencing delays in execution, the minister invited the various stakeholders to redouble their efforts to move the work forward.n
