The working visit of the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mourad Adjal, to the Republic of Mozambique was marked by the signing of four memorandums of understanding between Algerian and Mozambican companies in the energy and pharmaceutical industry sectors, aimed at the development and strengthening of cooperation in these sectors.

This is a cooperation agreement between Sonatrach and the Mozambican National Hydrocarbon Company (ENH) for the development of cooperation in the field of hydrocarbons, and a cooperation agreement between Sonelgaz and the public company responsible for the production, transport and distribution of electricity, Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM). It is also an agreement between the Saidal Group and the Mozambican Ministry of Health in the field of manufacturing of pharmaceutical products, in addition to a partnership between the Algerian Council for Economic Renewal and the Mozambican Institute for the Promotion of Exports and Investments. This was indicated yesterday, in a press release, by the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energy, which returned to this visit which was an opportunity for both parties to examine bilateral cooperation files and to give new impetus to cooperation.

The visit of the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energy, which was accompanied by the CEOs of the Sonatrach, Sonelgaz and Saidal groups, as well as the president of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA), was also marked by the holding of important bilateral meetings and meetings bringing together officials and economic operators from the two countries, particularly in the energy sector.

“These meetings made it possible to examine the means of developing projects and partnerships in various areas,” indicated the Ministry of Energy, referring to Minister Adjal’s statements to the press. The Minister of Energy, in fact, underlined the importance and objectives of this visit, which is part of a dynamic “aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and establishing mutually beneficial partnerships, based on the win-win principle”.

With this partnership, Algeria has just taken a new step and above all continues to strengthen its “economic and energy” presence in Africa, according to the ministry which says that this visit “is part of the implementation of the orientations of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at developing joint efforts to expand investments in the fields of energy and renewable energies, according to a strategic approach which aims to establish Algeria’s position as a reliable energy player and driver of sustainable development on the African continent.

This four-day visit “is part of the monitoring of the bilateral cooperation program between the two countries and aims to implement the orientations of the President of the Republic after the visit, last September, of the President of the Republic of Mozambique, aimed at the implementation of a new and promising partnership between the two countries”, it was noted, signaling the holding of several meetings and working meetings aimed at the implementation of a “real partnership” and of “strong cooperation”.
